What else can you do? Well, you can rent the house out. This is always an option. And it doesn’t matter if you have full, or some equity. When you’re renting it out, obviously you’re getting the rental income. Rents are a pretty high these days, in 2021. So it’s not a problem to rent it out and often, you may be actually getting rent amount that may be a little bit higher than your mortgage amount.

Well, what are some of the pros and cons of that option? Pro – obviously you’re getting some cash. Maybe you can have a little bit of a positive cash flow in the difference between the rental amount and the mortgage amount. Or, if there was no mortgage owed anymore, the whole amount you’re getting from the rent is for you to keep. Well, maybe not so fast. And if that’s somebody is you who has to deal with that, if the toilet broke on Saturday afternoon, yes, you’ve got to come out and fix it. Or, you have to actually pay to a property management company to do this for you, for a fee. This can be anywhere between 10 to 20% of the monthly income from that rental.
